Hello friends! Was your weekend fun? I hope so! We had a busy weekend with birthday parties, sport practice and we also went on a steam train ride. I really tried to get a photo of it without lots of people standing around in front, but I don't think I quite succeeded. I love old trains, and all the fun details in the old carriages.
This week at the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge, we are Inspired by Music. I was planning to do something different, but this art journal page got a life of its own.
I got the idea for this page one of the mornings last week. Since Anton started big school, we have an earlier morning routine and we are not quite used to it yet. The mornings are not always as peaceful as I wish they would be and it can be quite a mission to get everybody ready and out of the door in time.
So I did an art journal page about an ideal pastel coloured, peaceful and harmonic morning, starting with a song. It was also inspired by an emboidered piece my grandmother had in her kitchen, translating 'The morning has gold in its mouth'.
I got the two new sets of Distress Crayons the other day, and used mainly Set 5, with its pastel shades here, as well as Squeezed Lemonade and Mustard Seed. Working in my Dylusions Journal, I first gessoed a page and when dry, scribbled Distress Crayons on top.
I hope you will join us in our Inspired by Music challenge. As every week, you have a chance to win a $50 gift voucher from Simon Says Stamp. You have until Monday 8am Ohio time. 1pm UK time, 2 pm CET to join in.
